Hello Daisies, Poppies and whoever else may be watching! We have chatted in school about our pets and you have heard me talk about my horse, Kira. Would you like to take a look at what I do each day when I visit? :D Keep busy and stay safe, Mrs McDonald.
We have had a very special delivery at New Ford Academy! Today the children have been to see some eggs that are about to hatch! We were very lucky as we watched one chick hatch out of it's shell. We were so interested to see what it look liked, we were very quiet and we could hear the little chick chirping away!

The blurb says: A year of terrible drought, the charts and calendars proclaim, and the people resign themselves to starvation-all except Pik, a young ballplayer. He stakes their survival on a game of pok-a-tok with the fierce rain god. If he wins, the rains will come. If he loses, however, all will be lost. The Maya civilisation is the setting for this original tale of a boy who takes his fate, and his people's, into his own hands.
